Is your kiddo always up for an adventure? Because we heard that the Ranger Buddies have landed in PLQ Parkside, launching a series of missions around the world that they’ll need your little explorer’s help to solve.
Of course, we couldn’t resist trying it ourselves. So we set off to check out Ranger Buddies @ PLQ Parkside, and even had the chance to be one of the first few to try out the mission.
Gear up and join the Ranger Buddies for missions across the globe
Once we arrived at PLQ Parkside, we saw that the outdoor area had been transformed into the Ranger Buddies’ treehouse and mission ground. This is where your little rangers will set off on environmental missions to save planet earth and its inhabitants (that’s us!).
We were told that there will be a total of eight missions kids can participate in, with new ones being released every quarter till end 2026. These are phygital missions, with both real-life and AR challenges that kids get to solve around PLQ Parkside. Each mission activity has an educational element to it as well, all rooted in teaching kids about the importance of environmental conservation and making eco-conscious choices.
What else is in it for the kids besides educational fun, you ask? After completing all activities in a mission, your little ranger will get to redeem an exclusive mission badge from Jimmy Monkey Café (#01-10, behind the playground) at PLQ Parkside. There are eight badges you can collect from completing eight missions throughout two years; and the first four badges will earn you a Ranger Buddies vest.
But that’s not all, you and the kids can enjoy dining offers around PLQ Parkside that are exclusive to those who joined the Ranger Buddies missions. It’s mission time!
Ranger Buddies @ PLQ Parkside’s first mission – Trouble in Everest – takes place in the Himalayas. No flight needed, we headed straight to the teleport point (pictured above) after receiving our mission by scanning a QR code at the Ranger Buddies treehouse mailbox. With the help of our phones and AR, we ‘landed’ in the Himalayas in no time.
There are a total of four mission activities we had to complete after teleporting to the Himalayas. Without giving too much away, let’s just say the kids can expect some simple real-life obstacle courses, quizzes, and AR games. Our personal fave is the Red Panda Rescue – so do look out for that!
Once all challenges were completed, we were directed to Jimmy Monkey Café to redeem our mission badge. Easy peasy lemony squeazy. All in all, it was a great way to spend time with the kids while teaching them new things along the way.
