The exciting new plans to bring the German European School Singapore to one new all-singing, all-dancing campus have been revealed…
The great news about all the awesome new facilities happening at the future campus of the German European School Singapore (GESS) just keeps on coming! GESS is set to move to its state-of-the-art, sparkling new site on Dairy Farm in 2018, and we’ve been taking a look at the fantastic plans for a school packed with facilities, all in an open, modern environment…
The school first opened its doors to just six students back in 1971, and plans reveal that the new campus, which will see the current two campuses merge into one, will provide a learning hub for around 2,000 students. Global diversity and a holistic learning platform will still be key roles in the GESS ethos, and with its school mission statement, we give our students roots and wings, the students, who will range from K1 through to Grade 12, are sure to fly high indeed in their amazing new surroundings.
Project Design
Led by Project Director, Ms Ng Lee Ping, the school management team and Board of Governors has been working in close collaboration with teachers, staff, parents and consultants to ensure that the design brief is exactly what students need. The list of facilities is wonderfully impressive, and includes an indoor sports hall, Black Box Theatre, library and European Culture Centre, visual arts studios, outdoor plaza and play areas, music and vocal practice rooms, auditorium, swimming pools and technology-packed classrooms and learning pods. Can we be kids again, please?
