5 Outdoor Adventures for Kids
Having trouble getting your kids unplugged from their iPads? Prevent your kids from bouncing off the walls any further. Now that the wet season is far-gone, we set ourselves on the challenge to “think outside the house”.
On the water: Mana Mana Beach Club Junior Sailing Programs
While Mum may run a tight ship at home, it’s the little skippers who rule the smooth sailing circuit at Mana Mana’s sailing programs. Open to kids aged 7 to 14, the Dinghy Race Training Junior program gets your mini-me learning the ropes in time for the monthly regatta. If setting sail isn’t quite to junior’s liking, Mana Mana also offers activities like volleyball, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and wave surfing.

On the pitch: JSSL Arsenal Soccer School and Chelsea FC Soccer School
Have a pint-sized Cristiano Ronaldo on hand? Get the ball rolling at one of Singapore’s professional football club junior soccer schools. No scrubs here – renowned teams Arsenal and Chelsea have landed on our island to train happy feet in the art of footy, and of course, how to be a team player in the process. Girls-only classes available at JSSL Arsenal Soccer School.

In the air: MegaZip Adventure Park
Thrill seekers unite! Swing on wires with the ocean breeze in your hair as you fly 75 metres above ground. MegaZip’s 450 metre long zip line takes you through the Sentosa air, where you get a bird’s-eye view of jungle terrain and white sandy beaches. Or take a 50 foot leap of faith and fall from the skies at ParaJump, a free-fall jump simulator. For the littlest adventurers, there is MiniMonkeys, a climbing course suitable for kids aged 2 to 7.
MegaZip Adventure Park, 51 Imbiah Hill Road, Sentosa, Singapore, 099702, p. 6884 5602. MegaZip requires riders to be over 120 cm (90 cm accompanied); ParaJump has no height requirement.
In the water: Adventure Cove Waterpark
New to the Sentosa scenescape this year, this is arguably its most fun wet and wild water spot. There’s so much for your little dolphin to get into, whether coasting down the Lazy River on an inner tube, power swashing down one of the half dozen slides, floating above the six-foot tall waves at BluWater Bay or catching some rays at the many sun splashed rest areas. For little scrubbers, lounge in the Seahorse wading pool or Big Bucket Treehouse. Interact with marine life while snorkeling at Rainbow Reef or participate in the care and feeding of stingrays at Ray Bay. Although activities are limited for the under-4 crowd, at least their park entry is free!
