Our highly anticipated International School Fair, a music festival and another fab Dream Team Talk are what's happening in schools this October...
October is just around the corner and you know what that means – a short, but glorious holiday break for international schools. Local secondary schools, on the other hand, will be starting their GCE O-Level written examinations from Friday, 26 October. Yikes, chalk exams vs holidays up on the local vs international school debate. But on a more serious note, remember it’s important to help kids keep their cool and to reduce exam stress, especially because there’s always life beyond grades!
But, if you are still hunting for that perfect school, we’ve rounded up some of the need-to-know school open houses and events happening in October. And if you decide to throw in the towel on schools, there’s always homeschooling.
Dance with Pat’s Schoolhouse
Pat’s Schoolhouse is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a Children’s Music Festival. Attend workshops to play music, make stories come to life, dance to the beat and get crafting. There will also be face-painting, balloon sculpting, a photo booth and plenty of games and food for the whole family.
When: 6 October, 3pm-8pm
Where: Marina Barrage, 8 Marina Gardens Drive, Singapore 018951
Cost: Admission is free, purchase Festival Booklets (worth $30) with vouchers for food and activities at any of the 19 Pat’s Schoolhouse centres before the event or at the door on the day.
