Learn more about UWCSEA this October, where students are taught to embrace challenge and take responsibility for shaping a better world
Can you believe that it’s been 10 years since UWCSEA East welcomed its first students? Today, a happy, vibrant community of over 2,500 students learn and thrive together in a purpose-built, multi-award winning campus in the bustling hub of Tampines.
And the parents are happy too. UWCSEA mum Liz Jackson feels that it is just the right place for her kids. “My children feel valued and important for who they are, they are encouraged and pushed in all aspects of school life. My daughter has grown in confidence almost immeasurably, as her empathy and compassion for others has been valued and put to good use. My son had the best possible start to education and has developed a love for school and learning that is infectious,” says Liz. When parents think that a school has more than lived up to their expectations, you know that it’s worth paying them a visit. A truly international school
At UWCSEA, there’s no flag over the door and they encourage a diverse community of learners (90 nationalities and counting!). How do they do it? Applications open one year in advance, which means everyone has an opportunity to apply in the annual application cycle. Applications for August 2019 are open now, and placement is based on a holistic approach, which means a student’s background, experience and potential ‘fit’ with the school is taken into consideration.
A mission-driven school
Every educational decision made at UWCSEA revolves around its mission – to use education as a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. Rather than simply focusing only on academic rigour, students are encouraged to consider their place in the world and take risks while discovering their unique path.
One of the largest IB diploma schools in the world
UWCSEA is the longest-running IB Diploma school in Asia, and with its combined graduating cohort of 550+ students,is also one of the largest IB Diploma schools in the world. The breadth of the educational programme offered and the continued success of its graduates is testament to the schools long-standing belief in and commitment to holistic education.
If you’re looking for a school that equips students with the skills, ambition and compassion to make a significant positive impact on the world, then UWCSEA might be the right fit for your family.
