Featuring the nation’s colours of red and white to mark the occasion, the four-course SG 56th Birthday Set ($56 nett for 4 persons) and five easy rice bowls ($5.60 nett each) are available from 1 to 31 August 2021.
A dazzling set menu of Thai favourites
Blue Jasmine’s SG 56th Birthday Set ($56 nett) offers a sumptuous spread for four persons with appetiser, soup, main course, and dessert. Complimentary steamed jasmine rice, perfect as an accompaniment to the fiery flavours, complete the feast.
Whet the appetite with a refreshing Glass Noodle Salad with Prawn, also known as yum woon sen in Thai. The classic dish features silky glass noodles, prawns, cherry tomatoes, roasted peanuts, and red onions. The sweet and tangy dressing captivates tastebuds with a balanced blend of fresh lime, garlic, palm sugar, and fish sauce.
A rich and creamy Thai Coconut Chicken Soup bursts with flavours, whisking one off to the Land of Smiles. Boneless kampong chicken, oyster mushroom, and luscious coconut cream are paired with quintessentially Thai aromatics such as lemongrass, galangal, and fresh parsley.
Spicy, packed with flavour, and impossible to stop at just one bite – the Dry Red Curry Seabass is best savoured with steamed rice. Crispy fried fish is coated in a moreish red curry sauce that is imbued with the enticing fragrance of lemongrass, lime leaf, and fresh lime.
There is always room for desserts. The Colourful Glutinous Rice Ball with Sweet Coconut Milk, donned in red and white,
gives a patriotic nod to the nation. The traditional Thai treat cools the stomach with chewy rice balls, red rubies, and coconut jellies in coconut milk scented with pandan.
Fuss-free meals for everyone
For those who prefer convenient meals that are individually portioned, five different easy rice
bowls ($5.60 nett each) are sure to pique their interest.
Based on one of the most popular Thai street food, the flavoursome Basil Kaprao Bowl served with a soft, wobbly egg is not to be missed. A choice of either minced chicken, flower squid, or vegetables and tofu is stir-fried with wild garlic, mixed chillies, snake beans, and the finishing touch of Thai basil for its unmistakable fragrance.
Seafood lovers will be drawn to the Fried Fish in Spicy Yuzu Sauce Bowl. Paired with a green salad, succulent morsels of dory fillet are coated in Blue Jasmine’s very own housemade Thai-style yuzu sauce.
A vegetarian-friendly option, the Buddha Bowl features an enticing duo of fried tofu cubes tossed in a toothsome spicy peanut sauce and raw julienned vegetables.
New to the a la carte menu
This August, Blue Jasmine introduces more Thai favourites to the array of a la carte classics and street food staples, available for dine-in and takeaway via self-collection and delivery.
Packing irresistible heat, the Red Curry Cod ($30+) is a hearty main course that pairs the mild sweetness of cod with tantalising aromatics such as garlic, lemongrass, galangal, and shallots.
Fans of Thai-Style Fried Kway Teow will be thrilled with a choice of three different proteins. Chicken ($14+), beef ($16+), or seafood ($18+) are stir-fried with rice noodles, green vegetables, and preserved sweet radish in a wok over high heat.
Indulge in the Bua Loy ($12+) for a vibrant Thai dessert that offers colourful glutinous rice balls, red rubies, and coconut jellies swimming in sweet coconut milk.
