Celebrating 80 years of establishment and achievements, NAFA Arts Festival 2018 will be held from 13 April to 3 June 2018 at NAFA Campus 1 to offer a little something for everyone. From arts to fashion and books, there will be a series of festival markets every weekend and a carnival on 2 to 3 June. Take a look around NAFA’s campuses throughout April to June to see various exhibitions by renowned artists and students as well as theatre performances, dance performances and concerts by the students.
Festival Markets
Love 2 LEARN Arts Market
28 April | 10am – 5pm
Adults and art enthusiasts will have hands-on experience on various art forms such as printing, painting or experimental drawing. There will also be singing performances and live painting demonstrations by the Centre for Lifelong Education’s adult students.
HERITAGE Saturday Market
5 May | 10am – 10pm
Covering art heritage the fourth event will feature nostalgic games and pop-up stalls selling vintage wares and retro fashion accessories. Look out for art exhibits and enjoy a glimpse into Singapore’s past through a sampling of movies made in the 1960s.
Lobby Full of BOOKS Market
12 May | 10am – 5pm
Stock up your library with children and young adult books, graphic novels and local titles. There will also be hands-on sessions on brush calligraphy, bookbinding, typesetting and printing to try. Other highlights include music performances, drama performances and storytelling sessions.
Let’s MAKE Small Art Market
19 May | 10am – 5pm
The sixth weekend will focus on the theme of making small art. There will be stalls that feature handicrafts, small paintings, art materials and products for sale. Visitors will also be able to sign up for workshops on craft making such as prints, leatherwork, calligraphy and fashion accessories.
SUBARASHII@NAFA Market
26 May | 10am – 5pm
NAFA has partnered with the Harajuku Fashion Walkers, we are inviting self-inspired fashionable youth to stride along the Bencoolen Street and Bugis area! There would be an introduction to Harajuku Fashionwear with tips from the experts. In addition, Cos-A-Fair will feature 40 stalls retailing new and resale items such as props, costumes, wigs and more.
CLOSING Arts Carnival
2 June | 2pm – 9pm
3 June | 11am – 5pm
The closing carnival will consist of art making and creative workshops, food stalls and outdoor screenings of animations and short films by NAFA students.
