Take your family’s mid-autumn festivities up a notch with a lantern walk, special performances, carnival games and more at Jurong Point!
It’s Mid-Autumn season in Singapore once again and with it comes the festivities and fanfare that we all love. From glowing lanterns to delicious mooncakes, the rich traditions that surround the Mid-Autumn Festival make it one of our favourite times of the year. After all, it’s always a good excuse to eat more mooncake. If you’ve been looking for a way to celebrate Chinese history and culture, we say take the family to Jurong Point this September for their Mid-Autumn festivities! We’ve got the deets below:
Go on a Lantern Walk
Jurong Point is organising its very own Mass Lantern Walk for you and your family to parade your lanterns. It’s a great way to skip the crowds over in town, and still be able to enjoy the Mid-Autumn traditions. And as a cool bonus, participants will get a free goody bag packed with a lantern, bottled water and assorted vouchers from your favourite stores worth over $200! Don’t forget to pop by the JP2 main entrance before you go on the lantern walk – there’s going to be a dragon dance!
When: 22 Sept 2018, 7pm – 8pm
Check out the awesome performances
On the weekends leading to the Mid-Autumn Festival, you and the fam will be treated to cultural performances that are sure to entertain kids of all ages. Get ready to ooh and ahh while you watch a traditional Chinese dance complete with a saxophone performance, or relive your favourite scenes from your most cherished kungfu movies when you check out the traditional martial arts performances. There’s also a giant balloon show and a magic show with a guest appearance from a very special guest (hint: it has long ears and white fur)!
When: 15, 16, 22 and 23 Sept 2018, 4pm – 5pm
Get your own Mid-Autumn inspired coaster set!
When you pop by Jurong Point this September, you’ll get a free game pass for the carnival games when you spend $20 in a single receipt. And if you spend $80, you’ll get your own exquisite coaster set. If that doesn’t sound like an awesome deal, we don’t know what does!
Give the Golden Games Carnival booths a go!
What do you do with your free game pass? Give your kid a chance to get one up on dad or mum! If your little ones are up for a fun challenge, they can try their luck at one (or more) of the four cultural carnival games happening at Jurong Point. From shooting games to fishing games, a pin-the-carrot on the bunny game – it’s got it all!
When: 15, 16, 22 and 23 Sept 2018, 12pm – 8pm
And don’t forget to check out the Mid-Autumn Fair…
From 3 September to 23 September, why not treat the family to mooncakes and other yummy festival treats at Jurong Point’s Mid-Autumn Fair, located at the Atrium? Whether you enjoy the classic mooncakes, baked mooncakes, snow skin mooncakes or even durian mooncakes, there’s definitely something for every mooncake lover. Not a fan of mooncakes? Don’t worry; there are other festival foods available at the fair too!
