Mother’s Day 2018: Homemade gifts, cards and craft to make for mummy

While we're sure that the kids have got our Mother's Day prezzies under control, we think that the homemade offerings are always the best when it comes to feeling the love...

Mother’s Day 2018: the date when we *might* just get a lie-in (until 6am), and a slice of toast with a big mug of coffee in bed. May 13 is when we’ll be celebrating awesome mums all over Singapore, and it’s coming up fast, folks. We’re guessing the kids might need a little bit of guidance when it comes to what we really want for Mother’s Day, so we say break out the craft kit and start thinking macaroni necklaces, DIY cards and homemade floral offerings. Here are five fun Mother’s Day crafts that kids of all ages will love making for mummy…

Flower pots, candles, necklaces and a gorgeous card: What more could a mum ask for?

1. Forfeit the expensive but beautiful blooms and save a bunch of cash with these colourful paper bouquets by Craft Tutsplus: they’ll last for years rather than days!

2. Mother’s Day wouldn’t be Mother’s Day without a handprint offering from the tots, and we love the pretty flowerpot art by Little Stars Learning: Simple to make and gorgeous to look at!

3. Steer your older kids to this Hey Gorgeous teacup candle tutorial: perfect for keeping them busy with some vintage shopping (or a raid in your cupboards) followed by a creative crafter-noon.

4. Craft projects involving washi tape are our favourites! Try these fun Mother’s Day cards by DIY Candy for a sweet treat that all mums will love.

5. We’re totally feeling the funky designs and clean colours by Mer Mag when it comes to completing our jewellery collection with a macaroni necklace by our own mini-designers.
