A truly bilingual school? It’s something that you have to see for yourself! Join us as we take a step into Hillside World Academy’s clever campus
Parents, raise your hand if you’ve always wanted your child to be fluent in a second language. Lucky for us living in Singapore, it’s an advantage we can all give our children. But as we know, it takes more than a few 30 minute Mandarin classes a week to give our kids a better cultural understanding of Chinese culture and language. It’s a good thing that the folks at Hillside World Academy (HWA) have it all sorted out. Take a peek at our cute video to see how Hillside World Academy (HWA) makes bicultural and bilingual learning a reality.

Anyone can be bilingual
It doesn’t matter what country you come from – at HWA, anyone can learn and master the Mandarin language. In fact, little seven year-old Aryan was able to lead his whole family on a tour of Harbin, China. Imagine a little boy taking charge of a tour and communicating with the locals – without any help! Amazing, right? We also hear that some of the non-native Mandarin speakers from the MYP (Middle Years Programme) have applied for university in countries like China and Hong Kong!
A school with a strong sense of community
We’re definitely loving the warm vibes we’re getting from the teachers at HWA. Not only do they know all the students by name, they also know each student’s quirks and personalities. From this, we get the sense that the teachers truly care about the kids; and as parents, that’s something that we definitely look for in a school.
Put your kids ahead of the curve
There’s no doubt that the best way to get your kids to learn a new language is to immerse them. At HWA, most teachers speak Mandarin and English and use it everyday across subjects for all students big and small. There’s also a Beijing student exchange program with HWA headquarters Huija Private School that gives students a chance to experience an authentic Chinese lifestyle – pretty cool stuff, we think!
If you’re looking for a school that creates truly global citizens, Hillside World Academy (HWA) is your best bet. But don’t just take our word for it – check it out for yourselves!
