Australia’s largest multi-sport and exercise program for preschoolers has been building healthy little sportspeople in Singapore since 2012. From athletics to T-Ball, we take a closer look at the fun to be had at Ready Steady Go Kids.
Whether or not your kids are sports-mad, most of us know that the benefits of simply participating in sports and exercise are endless. Little people will no doubt be lured in by how much fun they’re going to have with their buddies. But, being the sneaky parents that we are, we love signing our kids up for sports so they can pick up fundamental movement basics that are the building blocks for more complex future skills such as movement and coordination, motor skills, and balance. Plus, let’s be honest, it’s just plain good fun watching a bunch of little people run around in circles, but after making our way through a few of Singapore’s great indoor playgrounds we like to mix things up. In the fantastic multi-sport program at Ready Steady Go Kids the focus is equally balanced between fun and learning, so no matter what the end result is, everyone’s a winner.
Ready Steady Go Kids is Australia’s largest multi-sport and exercise program for preschoolers aged two-and-a-half to six years. The program has been running since 2004 and landed on Singapore’s sunny shores in 2012. With classes at pre-schools across the island plus weekend classes at Bukit Timah and Kovan, it’s now the fastest growing multi-sport program for little ones in Singapore, and we can see why. The trainers here are super enthusiastic and full of beans, which really rubs off on the little people. It’s always easier to learn from someone who loves what they do, and the team is well qualified to coach lively preschoolers on the art of being active, always focusing on helping the kids achieve success while having fun.
To maintain the interest of easily distracted toddlers, the program introduces a huge variety of sports such as football, tennis, basketball, athletics, and even golf. The variation in activities enables kids to enhance their gross and fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, foot-eye coordination, and balance. Children also get to learn about other important elements of sport such as warming up, stretching, cooling down, spatial awareness, team-building, and our personal favourite: sportsmanship.
Programs are typically run in terms of 10 to 12 weeks, but if you’ve missed a start date, no need to fret. Just give them a call and they’ll do their best to get your little ones started. Or even better, if you know a few keen sporty beans you can sign up for the “Create-Your-Own” holiday camps to design a program that suits your needs and schedule. And, if you’re interested but not sure if you want to commit just yet, instead of the usual trial class fee of $20 you can head to a class for free until 31 July! Not only that, if you enrol by 30 April you’ll grab a 10% discount on term fees. To spark a lifelong love for sport and a healthy approach to life, Ready Steady Go Kids is the place to start.
