You’re invited to the Canadian International School (CIS)’s French Carnaval!
If you are interested in your child speaking both French and English, come along to the CIS French Carnaval on 23 November at 9-10am! Together with your child, you will participate in a range of French inspired educational activities, led by their bilingual teachers and students.
- Measure how high you can toss a crêpe and record it – in English and French!
- Visit the French café to chat with bilingual students and order some fresh crêpes made to order by the chef. There will also be cheeses from various regions to sample too!
- Learn about structures as you build your own mini Eiffel Tower.
Run by CIS’s bilingual teachers and students, these activities offer you a glimpse of how students learn and apply knowledge in a real-world context.
Families will also get to hear more from Dr. Xiomara Cruz, CIS’ Primary Vice Principal, and her team about how the school’s French-English bilingual programme (designed specifically for children aged 5 to 12) develops children who are bilingual, biliterate and bicultural. Uniquely aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), the programme offers equal exposure to both French and English.
