Home-baker Cherbax Tartyy (@cherbaxtartyy) is next in the line-up of home-based bakers to take up residency at Baker X. The resident baker will be offering an array of sweet and savoury mini tarts, along with mini fluffy brownies.
Founded by Cheryl Lim and John Lau, Cherbax Tartyy specialises in mini tarts with various flavours, featuring tart shells and fillings -All are handmade from scratch. The idea of creating miniature bakes came from her preference for enjoying a little bit of everything good. Likewise, an array of flavour options, ranging from sweet to savoury, are available for everyone to enjoy. Cherbax Tartyy’s mini tarts are available in customisable boxes of 6 pieces ($10.80), 12 pieces ($14.80) and/or 24 pieces ($22.80).
The savoury mini tarts are available in flavours such as Hawaiian Pizza, Curry ‘O’ Curry, Chicken Rendang and Eggy (Egg Mayo). Go for the Chicken Rendang, where chicken chunks and diced potatoes are cooked in an aromatic chicken rendang paste. Otherwise, take it up a notch on the spice scale with the Curry ‘O’ Curry, which features curried potatoes in a spice mix that brings up the heat. On the other hand, the Egg Mayo features a creamy mixture of mashed boiled eggs and mayonnaise on a crisp tart shell.
Purists of sweet desserts can opt for flavours like Hazelnut Nutty, Fruitty Tutty, or Orh Nee with Ginkgo Nuts (Yam Paste). A treat for all ages, the fan-favourite Yam Paste is prepared from scratch, featuring creamy puréed yam topped with ginkgo nuts for an added bite.
The tarts are freshly baked to order, and customers are welcome at Baker X at Orchard Central from 11 am to 10 pm daily or till the bakes sell out for the day.
