Parents, in case you haven’t realised, there are only two months left in 2019 – eek! And that means that the end-of-year holiday camps are quickly getting booked up. If you’re not going on a vaycay with the family, it’s best to start your hunt for holiday activities for the kids – we certainly don’t want to be stuck indoors with bored kids on a rainy day! ART & CREATIVITY
Offering holiday programmes all year round for both local and international school holidays, ARThaus is the place to be on a rainy December day. Singapore Repertory Theatre
This November, join Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT)’s Stage Camp for a week-long session on all things theatre! Kids will get to harness their creative and presentation skills to create and perform through various drama activities and games.
SRT also has an acting stage camp for kids aged 10-12 years old – not only will they be challenged to hone their drama and theatre skills in stage presence, vocal skills and creative writing, they’ll also develop and expand their knowledge of the theatre industry.

Want to get your kid into theatre? It’s so easy – just sign them up for Act3 International‘s workshops that are happening this festive season. These unique drama workshops draw inspiration from one of – if not the greatest – Yuletide fairy tales ever told: The Nutcracker! They’re specially designed for kids of all ages to explore theatre and performance on stage. Younger kids aged 7 months to 7 years will learn about The Nutcracker, while the older kids aged 8-15 years old will perform stories based on Christmas carols. You can bet it’ll be a crackin’ good time!

Sometimes, kids can be so dramatic. Well, maybe they’re mini-Meryl Streeps and Leonardo DiCaprios in the making. And if they are, they’ll love the programmes at Centre Stage! There are four areas to choose from: drama, dance, musical theatre and early years for kids aged 3–5, 5–7, 8–12s. Let your kids spend a week learning about mindfulness and resilience building with The Open Centre. Edible Garden City
You can’t put a price on spending a good day outdoors. And, the learning doesn’t have to stop! Our tip? Enrol the munchkins in Edible Garden City‘s Junior Urban Farmer holiday programme this November. Budding farmers will get to enjoy a sensory and informative tour of the farm, learn to prepare a farm-to-table meal, experience being a farmer by planting young vegetable seedlings, learn about edible flowers and the science behind some cool tricks. Plus, it’s a great lesson in sustainability and the importance of recycling and caring for the environment! Does your little one love to code? Or are you thinking of introducing an entertaining way to teach the kiddo how to? Well parents, here’s a suggestion! Saturday Kids has five-day camps or three-hour workshops specifically designed for kids aged 5-14 years old. There’s Marvelous Machines and Mechanisms, where they’ll use straws to draw 3D shapes and structures. They’ll also learn engineering concepts, how everyday items work, and how to power them up!
