As working parents in Singapore we’re flat out juggling home, career and that making that all-important ballet recital. We just don’t have time to get sick, or worse yet, schlepp to a far-flung GP for treatment. We need a good quality doctor within short walking distance from the office with appointments available at short notice. So we’ve got a list of five GPs in the Central Business District (CBD) that you can rely on when you’re feeling under the weather. So now you’ll have no excuse for suffering in silence and soldiering on without medical assistance.
Parkway Shenton Medical
We’re regulars at the One Raffles Quay branch of Parkway Shenton Medical Group and have always been seen and dispatched with medication within half and hour. They are one of the big medical players so have a good stable of well-qualified general practitioners on staff. It’s a walk-in clinic (but our tip is to call in advance to check patient flow). Note: While thankfully it’s open from 8.30am, it is closed over lunch from 1-2pm. And given the CBD location, it’s not surprising it’s only open on weekdays (so for that Saturday morning visit go to the Mandarin Orchard branch).

Raffles Medical Group
Another big name on the medical scene is Raffles Medical Group. You’ll receive top tier medical attention with this clinic. The branch at Raffles City Shopping Centre is open from the crack of dawn at 7.30am (so perfect for that pre-work visit), and like Parkway Shenton is closed during the lunch-time rush.

MW Medical
One of our HoneyKids mums highly recommends MW Medical as she finds popping out from the office to the convenient China Square location easy to fit into her workday. She recommends Dr Madeleine Chew as that perfect blend of thorough, great bedside manner and personal follow-through. The rest of the MW Medical team includes both internationally and locally trained doctors. It also offers a Hospital@Home service for the tricky times you can’t get to the clinic – and visits by the Mobiledoctor are also possible to hotels if you have sick guests in town.

Dr Singh & Partners, Raffles City Medical Centre
While we haven’t been to the City Hall clinic ourselves, we’ve heard only good reviews about Dr Singh & Partners. General physicians Dr Singh and Dr Sidhu treat all sorts of maladies including immunisations, chronic illnesses, skin checks and preventative medicine. They also have over 40 years experience each so there’s not much they haven’t seen before many times over! It’s more affordable than some international clinics too.

Fullerton Healthcare @ Ocean Financial Centre
Another clinic with a reputation for providing top quality medical treatment in the city is Fullerton Healthcare. On top of GP consultations it also provides executive health screening services. We like its mantra of “Asian Healthcare, Affordable & Accessible.” For extra ease you can also book an appointment online. Less time waiting about and more time feeling better sounds good to us.
