Founded and organised by VIANT Commodities and Y Art Project, the first edition of ViaRT Award will be hosted in October 2020. The ViaRT Award supports students to deepen their knowledge of recycling, sustainable living, responsible usage of resources, and to encourage them to develop their capabilities of seeking beauty from our daily waste. And, the competition is opened to all primary and secondary school students. To participate, all you need to do is create aesthetic, innovative, and meaningful artworks by using daily recycled materials.
Submission deadline for the award is 18 October 2020.
But wait, it’s more than a simple competition! From now till the competition deadline, students and educators can look forward to…
1. Live online workshops by contemporary artists
Engage, learn from, and be inspired by artists such as Sunaina Bhalla, who specialises in using industrial materials, and Alem Korkut, artist and associate professor teaching sculpture at ALU in Zagreb.
2. Artists and curator as competition judges
Have your artwork seen and evaluated by ViaRT Award panel of judges comprising of contemporary artists and curator, based locally and internationally.
3. Educational resources
Gain inspiration and learn more about recycling and sustainable living through ViaRT specially prepared guide books. ViaRT also regularly updates its social media with new recycled art creation content.
4. Recycled materials donated by businesses
To support students’ creation, businesses such as Nespresso, ALBA and impress are donating recyclable scrap materials.
