Want to know what it’s like to be a kindergartener at CIS? Head over to CIS Kindergarten Open House for a morning of fun and engaging activities!
Sending our li’l kids to kindergarten is always so nerve-wracking, especially since it’s their first time in a real school. Not only that, it’s a sign that our babies are growing up and ready to go to school! Which is why it’s always important that we choose a school that’ll not only prepare our kids for the future, but also ensure that their kiddie-curiosities are still being nurtured. At CIS, nurturing children’s natural curiosity lies at the heart of their inquiry-based learning approach — perfect for parents like us who want the right balance for our kids. And here’s the best part: we get to experience it for ourselves — together with the kids — at a fun-filled Open House! Here’s what else you need to know…
A fun-filled morning for you and your kids
CIS is hosting an awesome morning filled with hands-on and teacher-led activities for children to discover more about their inquiry, play-based teaching approach. There’ll be an Active Art zone to get creative at, a STEAM zone where they’ll make a giant pyramid, and a Maths zone where they’ll get to play marble games and try weaving (they’re actually math lessons in disguise!). And that’s not all — there’s even a literacy zone where they’ll learn pre-writing strokes through fun multisensory activities.
When you’re done with all the fun, you’ll have the chance to chat with the school’s Kindergarten principal and take a private tour of the campus! But don’t take your time; book your slots now because spaces are extremely limited and capped at three people per family.
What we love about inquiry, play-based learning at CIS
When it comes to innovative learning, we can always count on the folks at CIS to be at the forefront of it all. Their kindergarten program uses an engaging, hands-on approach that’s focused on making each student’s learning an enjoyable and memorable experience. For example, to teach kids maths, reading and writing, the students recreated a mini hawker centre where they set prices, menus and spoke to make-believe customers — how cool is that?
And through these fun but educational lessons, they’ll be equipped with the foundational skills (physical, emotional and intellectual) that’ll help them succeed throughout their school life and beyond. That gets two big thumbs up from us!
