Learning good manners is an essential part of growing up, but if you have a kid in your midst who only eats when the telly is on, or while glued to a digital device, now is a good time to get some guidance on bringing out their best. This summer, children aged six to twelve can polish their act at the new dining etiquette and social graces workshop at Singapore’s beautiful heritage venue, Chijmes. We’ll be signing up our kids for this Sunday 28 June from 4pm to 6.30pm (and taking the opportunity to wander around the grounds at Chijmes while we wait!).
This Sunday afternoon, tear your kids off their media devices and take them along to this unique etiquette workshop. Led by former Miss Singapore World and President of the Association of Image Consultants Singapore, Audrey Quek, this hands-on session will teach your kids the ABCs of manners in a fun and creative way. Children can look forward to engaging quizzes, exciting games, and of course, awesome prizes. They will learn how to become masters of fine dining and social graces, including poise and posture at the table, party etiquette, and practise polite interaction with their peers – they will be ready for a black-tie event in no time!
Children will also get to enjoy a three-course meal at American grill and bar Applebee’s to test out what they’ve learned. At the end of this spiffy workshop, kids will get to celebrate with a fun graduation party and a photo-taking session. Certificates will be presented, along with the Best Etiquette award – and, of course – even the most polite of parties isn’t complete without a goodie bag.
The workshop will be conducted at The Lawn at Chijmes, the perfect spot to spend a summer afternoon – we couldn’t think of a more beautiful place to while away the time as the kids learn excellent etiquette!
