Purovel Spa & Sport, Swissotel Merchant Hotel: For amazing oxygen treatments
You’ll be totally spoilt for choice at Singapore’s first luxury Swiss spa, Swissotel Merchant Court’s Purovel Spa & Sport. Oxygen facials are the house speciality, with three amazing treatments by Intraceuticals on offer: the Ultimate Anti-Ageing facial, Intense Hydration Rejuvenate facial, and the Intense Brightening Opulence facial, all developed in Australia. Our top pick is the latter: a one-hour session that “improves appearance of fine lines and wrinkles”. We’re sold! The treatment combines natural botanical brighteners with highly concentrated Vit C (and we all know that stuff is good for us) to balance and brighten dull and uneven skin tones. The magic set of potions plus the snazzy oxygen machine can reduce pigmentation caused by sun damage or premature ageing (or both, in our case).
Hot tip: If you can squeeze in a few extra minutes, then try a fab 30-minute add-on massage or body scrub to extend the bliss.
Intense Brightening Opulence Facial: $179 (60 mins)

Auriga Spa, Capella: For the full indulgence
For more than just a facial, head to Auriga Spa for a treatment that will leave you feeling recharged and ready to face anything the kids throw at you. We tried the 90 minute Organic Pharmacy Rose Crystal Lymphatic Facial (all in the name of research) which involved deep cleansing, exfoliation, masks (a seaweed one as well as a wrinkle-battling collagen mask), plus massages galore (scalp, arms, hands and feet are all given some TLC in the form of acupressure and lymphatic massage). Products are all 100% organic and natural by Organic Pharmacy, and afterwards we looked radiant, brighter and definitely less wrinkly! We loved having our face massaged with a real rose quartz, and our fabulous beauty consultant, Lala, may just have the most magical hands in Singapore.
Hot tip: make sure you take your swimmers with you and check in 45 minutes before your treatment so you can extend your ‘time off’ by using the spa facilities. We loved the herbal steam room and the peppermint shower!
Organic Pharmacy Rose Crystal Lymphatic Facial: $180 (60 mins) or $250 (90 mins)

Skin Inc: For a quick fix with zero redness
If time between school runs is limited, and you need a skin boost in just an hour, then Skin Inc is your go-to for a quick and radiant fix. Book yourself in for the Oxy Miracle Infusion treatment, which starts with the Oxy Miracle Peel (think ‘pressure washer’ for your skin: it really does involve a jet spray of an oxygen and saline combo at high speeds to unclog pores and purify skin). It sounds intense, but there’s zero pain or redness afterwards. Once your skin is sparkling clean it is ready to absorb the goodness of the next step: a customised signature serum cocktail (tailor-made to your personal skin woes). Added bonus? While the potions do their magic, you’ll enjoy the most heavenly neck and shoulder massage ever!
Hot tip: grab yourself a Mask to Perfection kit so that you can continue the good work at home.
Oxy Miracle Infusion Treatment: $178, Mask to Perfection Kit: $148

Four Seasons Spa and L’Occitane: For a naturally youthful glow
If the haze, heat or humidity is wreaking havoc with your skin, then you need to spend 90 minutes at the Four Seasons Spa and L’Occitane… We tried the Premium Immortelle Divine Secret Facial, which is a secret we just can’t keep to ourselves! This anti-ageing facial involves seven natural ingredients (including L’Occitane’s organic Immortelle essential oil and myrtle) that work on a cellular level to help leave you looking and feeling younger. If it’s the glow of youth you are after, then this swish treatment is for you. We left the salon looking and feeling refreshed.
Hot tip: If your schedule and your wallet allow for an extra splurge, then do also plump for the Immortelle Youthful Eyes treatment as an add-on extra… those bags under your eyes won’t stand a chance with this instant boost!
Premium Immortelle Divine Secret Facial (90 mins): $255, Immortelle Youthful Eyes (25 mins): $75.

J’s Medispa: For those who love to know the science behind the products
This one doesn’t come cheap, but if you are looking for a facial that combines pharmaceutical grade products, with a top-notch salon, then J’s Medispa is where it’s at. We tried out the Deep Care Proionic facial, which involved lotions and potions formulated to contour skin and brighten, heal, sooth and moisturise tired cells. A rather snazzy radio frequency machine was also used to help stimulate the production of collagen (perfect for when you notice wrinkles start to set in). This was a zero-pain, maximum gain total relaxation experience that definitely lived up to its big promise.
If you are not feeling the idea of a machine-based facial, try out the popular SkinCeuticals Vitamin C Firming & Lifting Treatment instead (which is also a little easier on your wallet). This promises to smoothen out facial lines and strengthen muscle tissue to help turn back the signs of time.
Bonus: Once you have finished your amazing treatment, J’s Medispa will be on hand to fix your hair and make-up so that you don’t have to leave the salon looking anything other than fabulous, darling.
Hot tip: If you have a few more $$ to splurge then do pick up a bottle of Metacell B3 Emulsion ($110 for 50ml), a daily corrective moisturiser which helps battle early photoageing, clarify skin and reduce wrinkles (hurrah!).
Deep Care Proionic Facial (90 mins): $478, SkinCeuticals Vitamin C Firming & Lifting Treatement (90 mins): $298
