Bring out the stars and stripes and celebrate Independence Day in the USA – here’s where the all-American fun is across the island!
America’s Independence Day is steeped in history and traditions, and marks one of the most patriotic days in the calendar for the USA. The historical significance of the 4th July 1776 marked the acceptance of the Declaration of Independence and the breaking away of America from the United Kingdom. Today, 4th July is also about fun and celebration of freedom, government, and uniquely American traditions.
In the US, the day is celebrated with fireworks and parades (including the famous one in New York), and gatherings of friends and family over barbecues. Towns throughout America will have fairs, carnivals and concerts. Liberty, equality, fireworks and food; here’s how you can bring a little of this American spirit to Singapore to celebrate the 4th July!
