10 things to do with the kids this weekend in Singapore: 8-9 December 2018

Christmas craft workshops, Christmas markets, and a trip to the aquarium is what we're looking forward to this weekend!

We’re well into monsoon season in Singapore, which means when we’re not ducking for cover from the rain, we’re off enjoying the short bursts of sunshine exploring Singapore. But as Christmas looms ever closer, we’ve rounded up the weekend activities to distract the kids from boredom, there’s only so many times we can use Santa as a threat, after all.

1. Assemble your very own home sweet home!

The kids are sure to love this fam-tastic activity where they’ll get to decorate their very own gingerbread house. With all the pieces of the puzzle already provided, all the kiddos have to do is assemble their dream candy home with frosting, cookies and candy. Parents can help their little architects to perfect their masterpiece. And of course, your mini chefs will get to keep the hat and apron. We tried this out ourselves recently, and our own little elves had a total blast. Sure, there will be some candy highs to deal with, but this is one sweet workshop that’s definitely worth joining in with.

Where: Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, 22 Orange Grove Rd, Singapore 258350

2. Hang out with Santa

Finnair is flying Santa Claus in from Rovaniemi to Singapore and we can’t wait to meet him! He’ll be at the inaugural Nordic-Asia Christmas Festival where you can pick up artisanal goods from Scandanavia and take a VR peek into ”Virtual Helsinki”. Don’t forget to take a snapshot with Santa and take part in the kid-friendly activities.
