10 things to do with the kids this weekend in Singapore: 2-3 June 2018

10 things to do with the kids this weekend in Singapore: 15-16 December 2018
Festivals, dinosaurs, markets, theatre... it's all in your weekly dose of 10 things to do this weekend!

The extra day off this week has certainly put us in a weekend mood! We’re looking forward to seeing lots of you at the HoneyKids Family FunDay: The Great Outdoors with AIS (it’s sold out, folks, so don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter to keep on top of the event game!), but if you missed out, fear not. There’s tons of cool stuff for the whole family happening…

1. Have a Superfundae out
If you’ve been to the previous Aviva Superfundae events, you’ll already know just how awesome this family carnival is. Expect a jungle obstacle course, water play, outdoor games (we’re SO there for the beer dash!) and creative workshops for the whole crew. Don’t forget to use the HoneyKids discount for your tix!
When: 2 June, 10am-9pm
Where: The Meadow, Gardens by The Bay
Cost: Book your tickets before 1 June to enjoy a discounted rate of $14.90 per ticket (U.P. $19.90). Use the promo code HoneyKidsEB when checking out!

2. Get your capes ready for superhero capers
Superhero-themed exhibitions and fun craft workshops are just some of the big family-friendly highlights happening at The ArtScience Museum during the school holidays. This is also your chance to bag a free kids ticket for every paying adult to Future World. Oh how we love a money saving tip!
When: Activities kick off between now and 24 June.
Where: 6 Bayfront Avenue, Singapore 018974
Cost: Free and ticketed events.

3, Take a trip down memory lane – via the Magic Faraway Tree
Here’s your second reason to head to Gardens by the Bay this weekend: Children’s Festival has kicked off and is themed around one of our all time childhood classic reads: The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton! Look out for balloon sculpting, face painting, a giant bubble show, performances and magic tricks – all for FREE!
When: Now until 10 June, 11am – 7.30pm daily
Where: Gardens by the Bay, Supertree Grove
Cost: Free.

4. Hang out with dinos!
Now here’s a roarsome event for small (and large) dino fans! Plaza Singapura has partnered with United International Pictures (UIP) to bring the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom adventure experience to Singapore. Kiddos will find themselves immersed in Virtual Reality fun, a dino fossil sandpit and cool museum exhibits.
When: Now until 17 June, 11am – 9pm daily
Where: Plaza Singapura, Main Atrium, Level 1
Cost: Free. No registration required.

5. Be wowed by somersaulting blue aliens
Fair warning: kids WILL demand gymnastics lessons within minutes of watching TORUK: The First Flight, performed by Cirque de Soleil. Inspired by James Cameron’s record breaking movie AVATAR this is a storytelling odyssey packed with acrobatics, amazing scenery and a whole lot of cool.
When: Now until 3 June, various times
Where: Singapore Indoor Stadium
Cost: From $98

6. Unleash your inner creativity at an art exhibition for kids
Look out for art exhibits, live demos, Trick-Eye stations for fun snapshots, and competitions for younger artists age 11 and below at the annual Faber Castell Art Festival. Register online for hands-on classes covering art techniques such as watercolouring, caricature, sketching and calligraphy.
When: 25 May – 3 June, 10am – 9pm daily
Where: Marina Square Central Atrium
Cost: Free, registration is required for selected events

7. Pick up your eco-friendly plastic alternatives
Here’s a chance to bring a little environmental friendliness into your home by popping along to the Terra Village Ocean-Eco Market. Pick up steel straws (including rose gold coloured ones!), magic make-up removing cloths, bamboo toothbrushes, beeswax food wrappers and lots more eco-awesome goodies. Once you’ve filled your non-plastic bags with your stash, pop along to the Ocean Fest happening in S.E.A. Aquarium, where you’ll find special activities including immersive art, underwater performances, upcycling workshops and environmentally educational challenges.
When: Now until 24 June (market runs weekends only)
Where: S.E.A. Aquarium, Resorts World Sentosa
Cost: Free admission to market. Kids from $22 and adults from $28 for S.E.A. Aquarium

8. Bring the little ones to the theatre
Interweaving the magical fairytales and meaningful morals, Peter & Blue’s Forest Adventure Presented by Singapore Dance Theatre tells the tale of the intrepid trio – Peter, his dog, Blue, and his cat, Calico. Expect fantastical adventures and plenty of fun, ending with huge birthday celebration!
When: Now until 3 June, 11am and 2pm performances
Where: Sota
Studio Theatre, 1 Zubir Said Drive, 227968
Cost: $30 per person (free seating)

9. Shop, shop and shop some more at ArtBox
ArtBox is back and in full swing with a space three times bigger than last year, over 160 vendors and 80 – yes, 80 – food stalls. If markets are your thing, you absolutely need this in your life.
When: 1-3 June, 3pm-11pm
Where: Bayfront Event Space (beside Marina Bay Sands)
Cost: Free admission

10. End the weekend at Sunday on the Hill
Wind up your weekend by heading over for the chilled vibes and family entertainment at Sunday on the Hill at kult kafe.  Boogie up a storm on the dance floor, take part in garden games and chow down on veggie treats by Banyan Tamarind Foods. Kid AND dog friendly!
