10 things to do with the kids in Singapore this weekend: 15-16 April 2017

The Easter bunny is springing into town this weekend, and we’ve hopped all around Singapore this week for our fun line-up of great things to do with the kids. Our top 10 picks for the long weekend includes a super-cool market, Easter events by the basket load, the chance to adopt a furry friend (maybe even a rabbit!) and a sporting event the whole family will love. 1. Catch A Peter Rabbit Tale before it hops out of town
This is your last chance to go on a musical adventure with Peter Rabbit in a lovely musical show based on everyone’s favourite children’s classic by Beatrix Potter. Read our review of  A Peter Rabbit Tale before bouncing over to catch the show for yourselves

2. Hang out at the coolest market to hit Singapore
With more than 300 fashion and food stalls, featuring an array of works from Thai fashion designers to quirky lifestyle products and scrumptious street food in a cool setting, Artbox Singapore – Bangkok’s famous hipster market – is THE place to be this weekend.

3. Get crafty at a free origami session
Drop by to Bishan Community Library and fold yourself some origami art for some crafty fun with the kids. The session is open to all ages and no registration needed: just turn up and whip up an origami storm.

4. Meet some furry friends at Pet Expo
Although we can’t confirm rabbits or chicks, we can guarantee that there will be plenty of furry friends to hang out with over at the fourth edition of Pet Expo. Expect fun competitions, pet-care talks, an interactive aqua zone and a meet-and-greet with some of Singapore’s most famous four-legged Instagrammers! Bring your fur kids along too: this one is, of course, pet friendly! Thinking about adding a fur baby to your family? This is your chance to meet heaps of puppies and kitties looking for a forever home: there will be 14 animal shelters running pet adoption drives over the weekend.

5. Listen to some cute Easter-themed stories
Celebrate Easter with cute fluffy tales in the lovely Rabbit Tales storytelling session suitable for kids four to seven years. Little ears will love hearing about long ears while they gather for stories about famous rabbits including the bunnies in Aesop’s Fables and cunning Brer Rabbit.

6. Practise your rugby hakas at Rugby Sevens
Rugby Sevens (and all those muscly men) are back in Singapore for a second year in a sports-entertainment experience the whole family will love. Teams from around the region will be competing against each other throughout the weekend.

7. Party with the Elves at an Easter celebration
The Party Elves’ Easter picnic is back! This year the annual fun-packed event will be held at Tree Lizard, where kiddos can get stuck into lots of merry-making with games, activities and an Easter egg hunt. Bring your picnic blanket and make a whole day of it, we say!

8. Celebrate Easter with a sumptuous brunch
We know where all the family-friendly brunches are happening over the Easter weekend and we say treat yourselves to one of them, stat! Hot cross buns, chocolate and, of course, eggs are on the menu and our favourite picks all have fun activities lined up for the kiddos too. Easter egg hunt, anyone?

9.  Get in the Easter mood at Camp Kido
Camp Kido hops into an Easter mood with a bunch of Easter-themed activities for kids. Campers can join in with the grand Easter Egg Hunt, art and craft, pin the tail on the bunny games and more, so strap on those rabbit ears and head over to the riverside.

10. Head to Fort Canning for a ton of Easter fun
