Sept 1729’s Worldwide Roundup
Here at HoneyKids, not only do we scour the Lion City ISO the best of the best, but we are also up at all hours wasting time doing research on what’re the best haps around the planet. Here’s a glimpse into our Editor’s weekly dose of awesome…brought to you by those who claim to be in the know but are really just up to no good finding ways to lighten the load.
We recently read that the method to preventing a toddler tantrum is to intercept tears via the art of distraction. And then we stumbled upon Lil Sugar’s Tried and True Tricks to Make Baby Giggle. Go on now, you wanna click through this giggly gallery.
It’s not really a secret that we get our fix of satire via Shanghaiist, so we were doubled over at recent post, China’s Embarrassing Childhood Photos are Fantastically Awkward. Seems that popular sites like Weibo are also getting in the irony game too. Well done! Thanks for the laughs.
Over at MamaPop.com, we gleaned an interesting perspective on role models for our growing gals, via Why Drag Queens Are Better Role Models Than Disney Princesses. Sure, as parents of petite princesses (in utero, we swore she would never wear pink or adore Disney – we obviously lost that battle), wouldn’t we rather our kids look to role models who are employed, have incredible comic timing, aren’t all blonde, and have mad charm skillz? <rant, over>
Adding onto the awkward family photo craze, extra kudos goes to The Laughing Stork for providing us with this <shudder> family photo – Womb With A View.
Check out this creative way that Disney chose to release The Little Mermaid: Second Screen Live. Kids can take their gadgets IN the theatres for extras such as lyrics to engage in group singalong with fave tunes throughout the film. Thanks for the info, PopSugar! We think it’d be SO worth it to switch on our gadget to get our littlies in the fun; what a clever little way to keep the kids app-y!
In our WTF files, we stumbled across this video that mimics the proverb “like stealing candy from a baby”. Who knew that millions of people worldwide would catch a glimpse of this in action. Café Mom catches this lady snatching a foul ball away from a little girl. Who does that? Well, she’s standing right there.
Of course, what roundup would be complete without kidvids to croon over? But really, what parent has enough time to view a whole YouTube video? We LOVE Vine’s platform of 6 second clips to help get us through the day. Check out this rugrat’s reaction to a trip to Disneyland!
23 creative costumes for kiddos await your viewing pleasure with Mom.me’s gallery for Best Halloween Costumes for Kids…Ever. After all, who wouldn’t want to transform their bundle of joy into a sack of potatoes? Not only are these duds fun for Halloween, they make great inspiration for Book Week outfitters.
Our friends at DailyCandyKids.com have coolhunted the next best thing in dream feeds. The Baby Brezza Formula Pro is like a tricked up Nespresso for formula feeders. Instantly measuring out the exact amount of formula and warm water to dispense into perfect bottles, this will take the guesswork out of guzzling when mum and dad are half-awake. Launching October 1st in the US and available for preorder via ToysRUs’ US site, us Islanders can take advantage using I-Parcel’s Preferred Shipping, available through ToysRUs.com.
An oldie but a goodie, we can’t stop from re-clicking on The Daily Mail’s rant over Baby Bangs. We realize the double entendre for the word “bangs” in the UK is obscene, so we took another look at this supposed new wave of fashion for crawlers. Designed to keep admirers from mistaking a girl for a boy, Baby Bangs are for “the girl who has everything – except hair”. Well, ahem, we guess for the girl who has everything, except sane parents.
If you have scouted something awesome around the globe, shoot it over to my fe-mail: [email protected]. Gracias, Honeys!
