This week our kids have been trying out life as an eskimo, life as a thespian and life as a trash hero!
If you’ve seen our Christmas holiday activity survival guide, then you’ll already have a good idea of what to do with the kids this week in Singapore. Our own kids – the tots through to the teens – have been out and about trying out even more ideas to add to the checklist of fun things to do all about town. What’s hot this week? Read on to find out…
1. If your tropical kids have always dreamt of seeing snow, but a holiday to the ski slopes is not on the radar right now, take them to Parkway Parade for a small taste of what it’s like to go tobogganing, build snow pies and have your nose turned red from the cold. The Snow Fun House by Snow City has popped up for the festive season and is perfect for small eskimos of all ages.
2. With all this rain lashing down on our outdoor plans, a trip to the cinema to see one of the pre-Xmas blockbusters is always a great back-up plan when the weather keeps you inside. This week we took ourselves off to see the newly released Coco. Our tip? Wear waterproof mascara and bring a lot of tissues for this beautiful, visually stunning Disney affair.
3. It’s never too early to unleash the inner thesp in your little people, which is why we loved trying out the ACT 3 Drama Academy Holiday Workshop programme with our own wannabe starlet (or in this weekend’s case, a wannabe pirate!). Sessions run for tots aged 18 months up to dramatic teens aged 15 years and are a great way to not only keep the kids busy while school’s out, but give them a big dose of confidence too.
4. With the season of goodwill almost upon us, now is a good time to remind our kids that every little thing we do can have a great big impact on our world. Our teenager tried out a regular Trash Hero session to help clear up beaches and learn a thing or two about the impact our garbage has on the environment. This is a volunteering for kids opp well worth putting on your radar.
5. Tis the season to be jolly: and that means Xmas markets! We’ve already aced a couple with our kids in tow (most have entertainment lined up for our small elves) and there are still plenty more to shop in search of all those stocking fillers. Check out our guide to all the merry markets, and make sure you sleigh-ride over to one that’s kid-friendly!
