It’s time we faced facts: we’re never going to wear that lace-effect mini skirt again and that size zero designer dress is just not going to shift beyond our cankles. Despite our best eating clean intentions, there comes a time when our wardrobes become so full of stuff we don’t wear, that it’s hard to find the bits that do still flatter. Donating used and unwanted items is always a good bet when it comes to a clear out, but there’s a novel idea doing the rounds of Singapore right now, and we want in: clothes swapping! Your fashion faux pas could well be someone else’s gem, so do your bit for the environment AND your wardrobe, forget shopping and start swapping.
Swapaholic at Liang Court
Mark your diaries for 19 August and start decluttering your closet for the swap-event of the summer, Swapaholic! Chuck the kid’s old clothes, the husband’s terrible purchases and your too small / too big / too young / too trendy / too frumpy clothes and accessories into the pile, and then pitch up on the day to find fab new threads for the whole family. Register your interest, drop off your stash (maximum 20 items) on dates between 3-13 August, and then grab some new clobber on swap night!

Your Clothes Friend Swap
‘If it doesn’t fit, it’s ugly anyway’. We love these wise words from Your Clothes Friend Swap and couldn’t agree more, which is why we’ve already become a regular at its swapping events. Meet new friends, have a glass of something cold and pick up some great wardrobe finds at these busy little sessions held on the East Coast. Bring along your old bras too – these will be donated to women in need around the world. Entrance is $25 which goes to charity, and includes entrance into a prize draw. There are no limits on how much you bring OR take: keep an eye on its Facebook page for updates on regular sessions!
