How about you?
We’re deep into the holidays and the kids are bouncing off the walls. We’ve visited the park, the library, the shops, the play centres, the bay and the beach. We need something else to do this weekend. What haven’t we tried? Lots of things as it turns out, and they’re all at the zoo.
Singapore Zoo School Holiday Promotion
Every weekend in June, Singapore Zoo is hosting Fun Wild Learning – a series of fun and fact-filled activities that promise to keep the kids busy and happy for a decent portion of time. Not enough time for you to catch up on the latest season of Game of Thrones, but enough to grab a coffee and enjoy a quality playing and discovery session with the little people in your life.
There are performances, craft workshops, animal enrichment trails and even yoga. The best bit? In an exclusive collaboration with Discovery Kids, children can gain insights into the fascinating world of documentary production and participate in the making of one! Tres cool, we think. Here’s a rundown of what’s on offer so you can plan ahead:
Wild Expressions
– Wildlife Performance – Learn about loving wildlife through an interactive and engaging performance.
– Kids Drama Workshop – Learn to express yourself better through performance at a wild drama workshop.
Art Gone Wild
– Origami Bookmark Workshop – Make animal friends with their own origami bookmark.
– Fingerprint Sticker Workshop – Create one-of-a-kind sticker sheets with fingerprints.
– DIY Bag Badge Workshop – Doodle-It-Yourself on a button badge and show it off to friends in school.
Wild Moves
– Animal Yoga Workshop – For the less wild and more mild, share some quality time with mum learning animal poses at a yoga workshop.
Other Activities
– Chomp Romp Trails – In this series of animal enrichment trails around the park, participants will get to learn how our animal residents stay happy and healthy.
– Kids vs. Film Booth – Experience creating your own wildlife documentary at the Kids vs. Film Booth. Kids can get a taste of what the participants featured in the Discovery Kids show go through, and take home a DVD of themselves hosting a 2-minute documentary.
