Before the globally recognized international school holds its open house at Broadrick Road, here are three things you might be interested to know about EtonHouse…..
Headquartered in Singapore (lucky us!), EtonHouse is a global preschool and international school that’s been around for more than two decades. You may know it as having the first primary school on Sentosa Island, or perhaps have heard how families rave about the school’s curriculum and fantastic community. If you’re curious to know more, we’ve got some good news: the school will be holding an open house at its Broadrick Road campus on 29-30 September 2017. PLUS, they’re offering 50% off enrolments if you RSVP and subsequently enrol your kiddo! Ahead of the event, here are three facts we found out about the school….
It’s got your kids’ backs all the way through their schooling lives
It’s a great feeling knowing that your little ones love the preschool they attend, but that makes it especially hard when graduation lurks around the corner. You’re forced to start from square one and do your research for a good primary or secondary school. And there’s no sure way of knowing that your chosen school has a good culture or curriculum.
At EtonHouse, a comprehensive through train pathway is offered all the way to secondary school, which means they’ve got your child covered through the all-important formative years. Equally important is the fact that there’s a solid primary and secondary years curriculum. EtonHouse’s inquiry based pedagogy and focus on a balanced teacher-to-child ratio ensures that kids get the best out of their education, and the full attention they deserve. We’re guessing that’s why EtonHouse’s alumni is so active, with many returning to connect with teachers or dropping them a line after leaving Singapore!
Being bilingual at EtonHouse is as important as eating breakfast!
We have to admit that we’re guilty of a little mind-wandering during mother tongue classes back in our school days. But there’s no denying that being bilingual is a powerful skill. We’re glad this is something EtonHouse recognizes, and we see it come to life in its efforts to develop a dual language programme in all its schools. A second language is integrated into the curriculum as early as pre-nursery, with Chinese, Japanese and Hindi on offer. It looks like the school’s efforts have paid off – students were named champions twice at the Singapore Chinese Language Competition for International Schools!
It has recently unveiled bright and shiny new facilities
A school’s not just about its facilities, but an upgrade now and then is always nice. Over at EtonHouse the folks have outdone themselves, starting the academic year with lots of new facilities for sports, science and ICT. Kids can look forward to a new science lab with the latest equipment and a dedicated space for research. The school’s library has also doubled in size, including more materials such as online encyclopedias, e-books, and online databases. On the athletic front, students can say hello to a 2000 square metre astro turf football field track and field facilities, along with a sports field and futsal court for activities like baseball, touch rugby and cricket.
