Our favourite virtual wellbeing shops
It would be nice to be all organic, biodynamic, and chemical free all the time but it can get a little costly. And we kinda like having a bit of spare change for the occasional school fee invoice and COE charge. So it wouldn’t be surprising to find a greater proportion of stock-standard supermarket products in our house than pure and green ones. However, the growing availability of alternative products online presents some small, but not to be sniffed at, savings. How? Well, online stores don’t have the same overheads as a bricks and mortar store, so they can pass on lower price- pointing. Additionally, if you buy in bulk, many websites waive delivery charges in favour of larger orders. Here’s a few of our go-to sites:
iHerb.com
This is e-commerce on a huge scale. From their base state-side they offer over 35,000 products from over 1000 brands. Everything from chemical-free house detergents to safe sunscreens are available, and all at lower prices than a typical stockist. Their model is based on people reordering so you can take advantage of their Rewards Program and make some good savings.
Pupsik Studio
This Singapore-based online retailer carries over 60 brands to bring you the best in parenting products, including deet-free mozzie repellent and BPA-free bottles. Founder Su Ling is a mother herself and has handpicked the safest and gentlest products. The other benefit is that, because it’s local, products arrive quickly. Orders above SGD$60 get free delivery by courier within 2 working days and night deliveries (between 7pm-10pm) are also available for an additional $2.
VitaKids
These guys do have shop fronts in Singapore but you can also stock up online. While their core business is in offering a great range of natural supplements, food and toiletries for children, they will soon be introducing a collection of household supplies too. Orders are typically delivered within 3 working days and delivery is free for orders above $200.
Human Nature Singapore
This is not just a shop – it’s also a brand. Human Nature produces a limited but terrific range of all-natural and eco-friendly home and body products for the whole family (including the dog). The company prides itself on its reasonable prices, ethical ethos and role in supporting Filipino communities and farmers. With a flat rate shipping fee of $4.90 island-wide, Human Nature aims to deliver orders within 1-2 working days.
Amazon.com
You might still be surprised to know that Amazon is as much of an organic supermarket as it is a seller of books and tech products. Just like at a supermarket, you can also clip digital coupons to receive extra discounts when you check out. Keep in mind, there are additional charges on shipment orders when ordering home products, but the trade-off is the fact that you can find virtually any product you want, all in one place.
my Life. Inc
This new kid on the block has stole our heart. Housing a range of awesome brands including our favourite innovative tea wand Teaism and Intelligent Nutrients cosmetic, we can’t stop adding to cart! It doesn’t help that the products they stock are so pleasing to the eyes. While you’re shopping don’t forget to get their Fresh Dog Bundle for your fur pal that includes the necessary grooming items such as a dry shampoo powder and waterless bath foam. Delivery is free for orders above $60 so get clicking!
