While us time-crunched mums often have to rely on the brow-saving, de-fuzzing mobile beauty services of Singapore for a bit of an overhaul, we really love taking some pampering time-out with our little ones and grabbing a mum and kiddo mani-pedi! Whether you fancy a French manicure, a nail spa treatment or a classic pedicure, we’ve found the best nail salons around town where the products are safe and the services are top notch…
The Nail Social
The Nail Social was established with the aim of training and employing local underprivileged women to help them work towards a brighter future: we’re well on board with that! What a great message to share with our own children. Drinks (including vino for mum on a Friday and Saturday), snacks and a friendly service are what’s on the menu at this great nail salon – and our kids are always impressed with the pre-loaded games and movies on the salon’s iPads (for when they are bored talking to us). Bonus points for non-toxic, eco-friendly, cruelty free products. Don’t forget to go for a little wander (aka shopping trip) around Haji Lane with your new nails once you’re done!

This centrally located salon has a team of experienced nail technicians on standby to transform your tired, raggedy nails into small works of art using OPI colours. Small fingers and toes are also welcome with a kids mani or pedi starting at just $10. There’s also a beauty room space for those all-important facials (probably best ditch the kids for that part).

Trimmings Salon and Spa
Trimmings Salon and Spa gets our votes for offering serious mummy and daughter pampering at affordable prices – an express mani is $20. With options such as Little Miss Mani ($18) and Teen Pedi ($36) for your daughters, and a tidy menu of nail services for us (including our fave: French polish), this place will leave you both feeling wonderfully spoilt.

A firm fave with mini-divas, Pink Parlour knows a thing or two about pampering those cuticles without blowing the budget. With 120 colours to choose from and Princess Pedicures ($40) or Princess Manicures ($30) on the menu, even the fussiest of small customers will find something that meets royal approval. There are also some great monthly packages worth considering if you are a regular nail-buff.

Auriga Spa, Capella
If an award winning luxury salon is the order of your day out together, then take yourselves off to the Auriga Spa, Capella for a treat of pure indulgence. Try out its mini lavender and chamomile soak manicure or pedicure (or both if you are feeling especially decadent: it’s $35 a pop), and finish off nails with a vibrant, non-toxic nail polish (free from nasty DBP, toulene and formaldehyde). Don’t forget to head off to the pool bar for a mocktail or two afterwards to continue being spoilt (you deserve it) and to show off those pretty nails!

Paint Shoppe Nail Spa
Tiny toes and little fingers will love getting a pretty new look at Paint Shoppe, where only natural and vegan products are used in this bright and colourful salon. Extra points for including mani-pedis for kids rather than girls. (Yep: our small dude loves a splash of colour on his nails every now and then).

This deliciously cute salon offers sweet mani-pedis for mums and daughters, using formaldehyde-free nail polishes by Zoya, Orly and Morgan Taylor, which are as safe to use as they are pretty to look at. And if neon colours are your thing (perfect for breaking out your inner child of the ’80s), then these guys have it nailed. It also hosts parties for your little princesses (or princes) if you’re looking for a birthday bash with a difference.
HOT TIP: Go for the mango foot scrub. It smells good enough to eat!

The Kuching Nail Spa
Step back into colonial times in this charming salon perfect for some mummy-child pampering. Not only will your girl love her Little Princess mani-pedi (and you will absolutely love the spa’s complimentary coffee), but you will both be helping out a good cause: 5% of the spa’s profits go directly to the Animal Lovers League. Private parties can also be arranged, so why not get some mum friends and kids together for an afternoon of nail-spa heaven all for a good cause?
