The annual Light to Night Festival is returning to the Civic District again this January. As one of the marquee events of Singapore Art Week 2018, the second edition of this annual urban art event is bursting onto the scene to transform historic monuments and cultural institutions and spaces into works of art. Explore the sensation of colour through a multi-sensorial experience of the largest visual, literary and performing arts festival spread across Singapore’s cityscape.
The kids will love the specially curated interactive art pieces like The House is Crumbling by Pinaree Sanpitak and create structures out of pillows, or travel on a magical journey through an interactive nature landscape with a parade of interesting characters in Walk, Walk, Walk: Search, Deviate, Reunite by teamLab.
Take a break on the Padang and stock up on food from more than 80 food and craft stores at Art x Social before checking out the mesmerising light shows Chromascope and Art Skins on Monuments. Don’t forget to take a stroll down the Esplanade Park Tunnel to All Things New at Esplanade Park to experience new musical performances from up and coming local artists.
National Gallery Singapore’s opening hours will be extended over the two weekends! Be sure to drop by and enjoy complimentary admission to all exhibitions including the special exhibition Century of Light.
