Jump up and down for a good cause
It’s time to do some good. In fact, it’s time for your kids to do some good too. It couldn’t be simpler to get your kids involved and get behind a good cause. And teaching them about the feel-good factor of giving has never been so much fun…It’s time to Bounce4Batten!
Mia and her parents at Ayres Rock, Australia
In a matter that is close to our hearts, we know a dear little girl named Mia Murchison who battles a rare genetic and debilitating condition called Batten’s disease, or Late Infantile NCL (Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis). Caused by a genetic mutation in one of the 20,000 genes in the body, it affects mostly children and there is still no known cure.
While In time, this horrible disease will whittle down Mia’s ability to walk, talk, see, eat and eventually take Mia’s life, Mia’s family are determined to make Mia’s life matter. Not only that, they want it be the best possible life she can live. And so they’ve put together the Bounce4Batten campaign to promote awareness of the disease.
To make a difference all you, and the kids, have to do is bounce a bit (or a lot because you probably won’t want to stop), and post a pic on social media. Not only does this get the message out and raise awareness for Batten’s disease, it spreads joy…and what better way to endear people to your cause than through smiles. So get on the case, jump up and down, take a photo and jam news feeds worldwide with portraits of happiness.
Batten Disease Awareness Day is on March 31st and you can show your support in just 3 easy steps:
- Get bouncing.
- Snap a photo or video of bouncing in action.
- Upload and share it on social media like Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #bounce4batten and get your friends to do the same!
In the last few years peeps in New York, Paris, Australia and Singapore got involved. Now it’s your turn to be a part of Bounce4Batten. To fund research for a cure, make a donation to the Batten Disease Support and Research Association and play a part in finding a cure.
