eXplorerkid Singapore may be a super-fun playground and fantastic kids’ party venue, but it’s also an educational goldmine where children can learn and develop new skills...
When thinking of a good indoor playground to take your kids to, eXplorerkid is pretty much a no-brainer. It is after all one of the largest indoor play-centres in Singapore, and certainly one on our must-go list for the weekend.
However, there’s more to the venue than just being a place where kids can let loose and have tons of fun. It also offers loads of activities that promote learning. And what better place for kids to explore and discover than somewhere that’s filled with fun and laughter. Here are four reasons why eXplorerkid is the perfect place for your young’uns to learn through play.
Skill-building while monkeying around
Sure, children can’t get enough of slides and ball pits (just thinking about prying them away when it’s time to go home gives us a headache!), but the facilities at eXplorerkid are about more than just fun.
Both its venues (at Downtown East and AMK Hub) are fitted with a Mega Play structure that’s great for helping kids develop their motor and navigation skills. Think multi-level obstacle courses, rotating crawl spaces and the centre at Downtown East even has a rock climbing wall! If you’re trying to help your kid conquer their fear of heights, Downtown East’s two-tier rope obstacle course might just do the trick. Don’t worry, it comes complete with safety equipment. In fact, you can also join in the fun with junior and show them how it’s done!
Bento making, painting and sports activities
Eager for your kid to pick up some soft skills such as cooking, communication, and public speaking? eXplorerkid organises a whole range of educational workshops in these areas. There are also kids’ yoga classes, storytelling sessions, handicraft workshops, music and movement lessons and plenty of school holiday camps to cater to different interests.
One to look out for is their March school holiday interactive workshops. Kids will learn how to create their very own breakfast bento (17 March 2018), paint a colourful name board to spruce up their room (13 March 2018), or stay active at the multi-sports sessions (10 and 17 March 2018). All workshops cost $45 and come with an additional hour of playtime at the indoor playground, so the little ones get their daily fill of fun and motor skill development. Psst, we’ve got a special promo code for all our readers, just enter HONEY10 to get $10 off registration fees.
Always something to fill your calendar
You can pretty much guarantee that whenever there’s a holiday around the corner, eXplorerkid has a healthy dose of creativity-boosting activities in store! Both outlets also boast an on-the-spot craft station which offers photo frame making, batik painting and sand art sessions. Get the whole fam-bam together this March holidays to create a totally unique keychain at Shrink Art Activity (16 to 18 March 2018).
Party like it’s your birthday!
Besides being a great place to learn and have fun, eXplorerkid hosts some pretty kickass birthday parties! Choose from customisable themed birthday packages, all of which include exclusive usage of the party room for two hours, tasty bites, and a surprise gift for the birthday boy or girl. If you’ve got the budget, go for their Premium Themed parties which include unlimited playtime and a dedicated party host, or their brand new Bowling Birthday Party (both $888).
