What do kids really want? More playtime! This Christmas, IKEA is encouraging everyone to join in the fun – because whether you’re young or old, we should all make more time to play together.
Laughing till it hurts; playing make-believe; being silly together – these are the things we love most about time with our kids. With the aim of injecting more of this fun in the lives of families, IKEA has captured the spirit of playfulness with its new LATTJO toy collection – and we’re giving away $500 worth of prizes to celebrate!
‘Lattjo’ is the Swedish word for funny or amusing, and we can’t think of a better name for this collection: check out the robot costume, for starters. Got a musical kid? Form a family band with the colourful percussion sets, or build a playground at home with hula hoops, skittles and more.
IKEA’s LATTJO range makes playtime the best present you can give your child this Christmas. With games that get the whole family involved, technicolour puzzles to tackle, costumes for wild dress-up sessions and colourful soft toys to fire up the imagination, it’s all about rediscovering how fun it is to simply play – no rules, no limits to the imagination, and no worries. Having that big belly laugh with your kids after an intense day at work is, after all, the best stress-reliever we’ve ever found.
The LATTJO collection is in stores now (be quick to check it out because we have a feeling there are going to be quite a few robots running around on Xmas day!). And we love that IKEA is spreading the feel-good factor to more families – for every soft toy sold between 8 November 2015 and 2 January 2016, IKEA Foundation will donate €1 (S$1.65) to UNICEF and Save the Children to fund projects around the world that have given more than 11 million children a better education.
And don’t forget a gorgeous tree to put the toys under: IKEA’s live trees have landed too, with a special Christmas message this year. Sustainability has always been at the heart of IKEA, so this year, everyone who brings their IKEA live tree back to stores with a valid receipt between 26 Dec 2015 and 17 Jan 2016 will receive a 50% rebate on the purchase price (excluding the base) in the form of an IKEA gift card. And for the first time this year, customers who recycle their non-IKEA live Christmas tree at the stores within the same period will receive a $5 IKEA gift card. Collected trees will be recycled into compost and used as fertiliser under World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) Eco-Schools Programme.
