Compassionate Communication
2-Day Nonviolent communications (NVC) Foundations Training Course
(Note: a 3 hour session is also offered. Choose between an afternoon session or evening session)
Facilitated by Paulette Bray-Narai (CNVC Certified Nonviolent Communication (NVC))
The crew at Chapter Zero and Sprouting Seed present a 2 day workshop for parents in Compassionate Communication with a focus on ‘nonviolent communications’ (and also 2 options for 3 hour workshops – details below). Many parents struggle to find a way of parenting that is neither permissive nor coercive. With Compassionate Communication skills we can parent in a way that inspires harmony and connection, power with, rather than power over.
In the 2 day course, you will learn new ways of understanding children and teen’s behaviour, and new ways of responding, allowing mutual trust, respect and co-operation to develop and relationships to flourish. You’ll also learn skills for self-care, helping you to parent at your best. (Details on the 3 hour workshops can be found here or the afternoon session and the evening session).
NVC, A Language for Healthy Relationships
• Learn new ways of communicating in any situation
• Resolve conflict peacefully and effectively
• Learn healthy relating skills, how to respond, not react
• Experience how to meet other’s needs & your own needs
• Set effective boundaries with compassion & awareness
• Create connection, understanding, respect and trust
• Take away practical tools to benefit all relationships
• Learn how to express yourself clearly and hear others with compassion
This training is Powerfully Transformative, Practical and Effective. This covers all relationships with a Parenting Focus while exploring all relationships including children, friends, teachers, partners and the many other relationships we engage with regularly.
Explore the use of NVC, an effective alternative to rewards and punishment to improve the quality of the relationship with our children and mediating between children with confidence with less anger, guilt, more joy and peace.
This course brings clarity to your child’s behaviour, equips you with the ability to cope with triggers and the ability to offer empathy and respond to your child’s emotional needs.
What to expect from the NVC foundations training?
The trainings are experiential, providing an opportunity to learn & practice using the tools of CC for your own individual needs, in a stimulating & supportive environment. You will learn to recognise language that connects and language that separates, discover how to express your needs without shaming or blaming, to hear behind the words to what people are really saying, to express anger respectfully and find constructive ways to meet needs. You will be supported to practise using CC for various situations.
