“Who are we but the stories we tell ourselves, about ourselves, and believe?” – Scott Turrow
How do you define your identity and belonging?
How are these shaped by your environment and current situation?
How does this impact our thoughts, emotions, and interactions in daily Life and Work?
We live in a world where everything tries to make you something else. Our identities are constantly shaped by our experiences, self-perception, and how we want to be seen. Humans are social beings, we naturally seek acceptance and a sense of belonging in order to feel comfortable being our true selves. Identity is never static, nor our surroundings. As a result, we sometimes lose our sense of identity and belonging when our environment or situations change. How do we balance being adaptable with being who we are? What can new experiences teach us about ourselves and the world?
This month, join Culturalist Expert & Coach Lesley Lewis in a talk organised by The Change School to explore:
* What is Identity and Belonging?
* How do these notions manifest in our daily lives and work?
* How do we cope when our opinions and beliefs differentiate from those around us?
* How can we create meaningful connections in a new cultural context or environment?
* What is the impact of these factors on our thoughts, emotions and behaviours?
