Edge’s new 4 hour long Veuve Clicquot brunch fest
It’s no secret that here at The Honeycombers, the pursuit of brunch is the law of the land. So when we got word of the longest free flow Veuve Clicquot brunch in Singapore, our HoneyKids’ brunch bunch raced to Sunday brunch at Edge, Singapore’s best new Sunday Brunch, at Pan Pacific Singapore.
Not for the faint hearted, the new Sunday Brunch at Edge is the superlative of our unofficial world brunch capital. We said “bite me” to our Saturday night hangover and tucked into our four hour Sunday fun day with flutes of Veuve in hand, ready to tackle the gluttony. Thankfully, there was more than enough on offer to stuff our faces as our jaws dropped around every corner.
HoneyKids tip: Go hungry, and pace yourself!
Start off slowly. Four hours of gluttony best explains what is on offer. Featuring a decadent spread throughout this massive space, Edge provides a ginormous variety of traditional brunch favorites like egg stations, waffles, eat-alian pastas and breakfast sammies. But the real draw for us foodies was the exceptional attention paid to niceties like the umi wagyu steak, Boston lobster, pan seared foie gras, French oysters, and Asian cuisine (even fusion Chinese, Malay, Indian, Thai, Japanese options!) Seven live stations and endless offerings line dot the brunchscape (including durian penyat and a 15-cm high, gluten-free velvet cake at the dessert station), laying down the edict that no one will leave brunch hungry.
For such a sinful Sunday spread, we were surprised at the layout. Tables are spaced perfectly around the stations to allow not only little nooks for semi-private bingeing as well as spacious dining for families and brunchers who need a little extra space to let it all hang out.
Cheese lovers note: this may be the best spread in town. Thirty smelly, runny (AKA deeeelicious artisanal) varieties of cheese occupy a two-meter long cheese island that we had no problem marooning ourselves on. And our fave? The melted raclette cheese a la minute lovingly poured over perfectly prepared potatoes.
Let’s talk about the booze; if you’re not quite a Veuve fan (which probably means you live on like another planet), rest assured the free-flow bevvies include Cloudy Bay Sav Blanc and Pinot Noir, beer and cocktails, soft drinks, juices, coffee and tea.
What’s that? You think we forgot about the rugrats while the parents indulge? A dedicated kids’ corner lay at the Edge that’s stuffed with toys, playmats, DVDs of cartoons and more. Bonus: kids under six eat for FREE.
The verdict? Edge’s new four-hour free flow Veuve Clicquot Sunday brunch takes the gold medal in our brunch Olympics.
