1. Find a bargain at the Stork’s Nest Annual Sale
Oh how we love to find a second-hand bargain here in Singapore, and with our kids growing ALL OF THE TIME, we can’t wait for a rummage at the upcoming Stork’s Nest 5th Annual Family Sale! Prams, toys, maternity bits ‘n’ bobs, and plenty of cool threads for the kiddos are just a few of the things you can expect to find while browsing 100 stalls chock-a-block with goodies and family-friendly businesses galore. We’ll see you there!

2. Bring the family to the theatre
We love bringing the kids to see their favourite stories come to life on stage, and another fantastic theatre show for children is roaring into town this weekend: The Tiger Who Came to Tea! Your little ones probably know Judith Kerr’s classic children’s book word-for-word… now you can bring them to see fun page-to-stage version. 3. Pick up some new reads at the Asian Festival of Children’s Content
If you’ve worked your way through your favourite libraries and are still after some new bedtime story reads, head on over to the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) to meet-and-greet authors, illustrators and performers, listen to a story or take part in fun art and craft activities. There will be over 20 exhibitors showcasing their talents!

4. Horse around at the National Dressage Championships
Gallop over to the Singapore Polo Club for a three-day event that young horse fans will be chomping at the to bit to attend. As well as the dressage events, featuring entrants from around the world, you can also expect a Shopping and Food Village, a Cuban Dinner and a Champagne High Tea.

5. Practise your Francaise at the French Animation Film Festival
Spend the weekend brushing up on your French by heading over to the sixth edition of the French Animation Film Festival. Highlights include My Life as a Zucchini, April and the Twisted World, Ivan Tsarevitch and the Changing Princess and The Girl Without Hands.

6. Try out origami!
If you’ve got some time to spare over the weekend, and fancy picking up a fun new arts ‘n’ craft skill, then head on over to Bishan Public Library for a drop-in origami workshop. The session promises to teach kids and grown-ups how to make an origami model in just ten minutes!

7. Check out the new Flower Dome display at Gardens by the Bay
You’ll be feeling anything but blue when you step into the beautiful new display at the Flower Dome opening this weekend. Blue Beauties floral display transports us to a French-inspired garden full of gorgeous blue coloured blooms including hydrangeas and agapanthus.

8. Learn how to build a dinosaur!
The Science Centre never lets us down when it comes to the perfect balance of fun and education with its popular pop-up exhibitions. Wannabe paleontologists and inventors should mark 20 May in the diary: The Dino Robot Factory is throwing open its doors for kids to experience the process of creating a robo-dino! This travelling exhibition will be roaring into town all the way from Japan, and was designed especially for eager young minds – but us grown ups are also just a bit excited about seeing a T-rex brought to life through the science of animatronics!

9. Flex your green fingers at Gardener’s Day Out
Get out into the fresh air and pick up a gardening tip or two at the Gardener’s Day Out event over at Hort Park. Check out the family activities including workshops, storytelling sessions, a food bazaar and nature walks.

10. Visit the new Art Science Museum exhibition
In the age of seriously cool (and sometimes a little scary) technology, the new HUMAN + The Future of Our Species exhibition at Art Science Museum poses questions on what it means to be a human today, what will it feel like to be a human one hundred years from now, and how artificial intelligence might impact our future selves. This clever exhibition opens this weekend will have the whole family pondering the meaning of our human lives!
